How it works
- 01
Come and meet us
Your first session is free. We'll talk about where you are, where you want to be, and any niggles we should train around — then you'll join a group and lift.
- 02
Train in a group of four
Every session is capped at four people with a coach on the floor the whole hour. You get personal attention; the group brings the energy.
- 03
Follow the programme
The whole gym trains the same well-built programme, rotated every four weeks. Your weights, your pace — we track every set so you can watch yourself get stronger.
Why small groups work
A coach who knows you
Not a class instructor at the front of forty people. Your coach knows your lifts, your history and your goals — and adjusts on the spot.
Progress you can see
Every set is logged. Personal records get celebrated the moment they happen — by your coach and by the people training next to you.
People who keep you coming
The hardest part of training is showing up. Train alongside the same friendly faces and it stops being willpower and starts being your week.
Squads, not just sessions
Every month you join a squad — four members and a coach with a similar goal, cheering each other on whether or not you train at the same hour.
Meet the coaches
A small team who coach every hour themselves — no rotating cast of freelancers.
Callum Brodie
Strength and conditioning coach for 12 years. Believes the best programme is the one you still enjoy in year three. Trap bar evangelist.
Dougie Stewart
Powerlifting background, patient teacher. If your first pull-up happens anywhere, it happens in Dougie's squad.
Eilidh Munro
Former physio — programming around old injuries is her speciality. Runs the mobility clinic on Saturdays.
Morag Ellis
Founded Gym on the Square to prove a gym can feel like a members' club. Coaches the 6am crowd and knows everyone's dog by name.
The weekly timetable
Fixed hourly slots, six days a week. Two groups of four can train each hour — book the hour that fits your life.
